cracked 12v head

I am new to this forum and all diesel toys. I am trying to do a conversion on a chevy truck. The motor that I got has been very big pain in the butt. I now have found that my cylinder head is cracked. A local machine shop has told me that the cracks between the intake ports into the injector holes are ok but I cant find any info on the crack from the intake bowl through both seats and into the exhaust bowl. Can any one tell me if this is an area that will leak or can I put seats in this hole and be alright. If I have to get a new head what are my option.

Brand new 12v heads are ~$450-$650 with valves when I was looking.

I beleive arizona cylinder head and tri-state cylinder head were the companies selling them.

i would buy one from like PDR(peirs diesel research) or another performance type place with o-rings and head studs, might as well just do it once and not have to worry about, unless your just going to stay stock

I saw some of these heads that are listed for sale for $450-650. I was a little scared of them. Has anyone used these? If so what kind of luck have you had?

I bought mine from Alabama Cylinder Head it was $490 with shipping to Pa. I have not had a problem with it at all and it looked like a nice head when I put it on. There are a couple of others that I believe purchaced from them also and I haven't heard any complaints. There # is 1-800-235-4323 they were very nice to talk to and got the head right out to me.
