CPS Sensor Replacement
CPS Sensor Replacement
After a year of hunting down a charging problem (wait to start light stays on, and the alternator does not charge), I hope I've finally found the issue. After replacing the Alternator, Battery, Grid Heater, Grid Heater intake sensor and relays, a new Engine bay wiring harness and installing a voltage regulator, I believe my CPS sensor is shot. I was able to loosen the 3 bolts holding on the CPS sensor and re-gap the clearance but still no charging.
My question is, how can a person change the CPS sensor, there is not enough clearance to remove the bolts without hitting the fan, does the rad and fan need to be removed? and is it worth doing the KDP at the same time?

I have an aftermarket fluidampr and their brackets for the CPS and I can get it on/off by just removing the fan, so I would think that is all you would need to do to get an OEM CPS off to replace it.
