Are you sure that the pump throttle shaft is indexed right? I am not a ve pump expert, but what you describe sounds a lot like the other threads about it...Mark

Your throttle indexing is off. Move it one notch and try again.

Make sure you index it the right way! Lol

If it won't start at all still after moving it one notch, give it a bit of throttle like last time

that was my first thought with the way it was acting. but i swear i put it back exactly the same. but either way it doesnt matter now, i got bigger issues than throttle indexing.

dufur!? who the hell lives in dufur haha. actually we have a farm house out on ward road. Although i live in vancouver now.

If you ever did any business with Devin's alignment, i was the service writer manager there.

okay so as for the truck.

First thing monday its off to source automotive (best diesel shop in the NW)

Ive got an injector that wont seat, a brand new lift pump that wont get fuel up to the fuel filter, a motor that leaks oil like crazy, and a truck that wont run. They get the lovely job of fixing all that, and building my head to handle 750hp.

My wallet should love me for this.

and if i have one more major issue with this truck, i'll be that guy blowing up all the dodge and cummins dealers around the usa.

Hey guys, I'll be up in your neck of the woods week after next. I'll be passing through on my way to Maupin. I hear you're having a heat wave.

Head went to the machine shop last night, should have it back by tuesday at latest.

Im already up to about $1500 bucks in parts... im scared to see the rest of the labor bill lol.

hoping to have the truck back by friday. but first part of next week sounds like the deadline. hopefully good news soon!

Got an update this afternoon, head is all finished and reinstalled. they were going to try to fire it up and troubleshoot the fuel problem next. so hopefully tonight or tomorrow i'll have her back!? i found out my bill was about 3400 so far and still growing.... im throwing a HUGE fit over that. far as i can tell ive only thrown about 1500 bucks in parts at it... so 2 grand in labor seems awfully high for pulling a head and putting it back on.... i better get a **** good explanation....

This F-ing Truck. i swear blowing it up with a tank sounds about the only proper course of action right now.

So i picked it up from source automotive after the head rebuild. Nice whopping $3000 bill.

i drive 150 feet down the road leaving the shop, truck dies in the middle of the road...
that one only ended up being the FSS wire popped off.

drove it the 90 miles home. Just as im pulling into my work oil light pops up and oil pressure gauge drops to 0.

awesome! check the oil and it doesnt even read on the stick. and its very heavily leaking all over. So again, trucks in the shop and torn part....

Words dont even describe the frustration.....

saw your post on CF. I know your pain. I mentioned over there my lift pump issue... hopefully your leak is a simple fix. What side of the block is it coming from?

pump side. the entire pump and that whole side of the motor/truck/suspension is just soaked in oil. passenger side is bone dry.

It is pretty obvious that it didn't have this leak prior to the head work, so it was something the shop did, or didn't do. I hope they are planning on fixing it for free. I realize that not everyone can do it, but this is exactly why I don't let anyone work on my vehicles except me. It's not like I am a great mechanic or anything, but at least if there is a screw up, I know who to blame ...Mark

Trying to think what on that side could have been left out or not tightened that would leak oil. There's a few sensors I remember.
