coolant leak - ???

Noticed a small puddle (few drops) of coolant under my truck yet nothing coming from the hoses. Where are all the places I should look for a leak?

Freeze plugs on the sides as well as the front and rear. One of them is covered by the fan hub. Also look closely at the trans cooler on the side of the engine and all its plumbing. And of course the head gasket - not likely since this one's close to stock.

Also the water pump, as the bearings go bad the first sign is coolant leakage from the shaft. Thats what mine and my dad's was.

Leak

The last leak I had was the 90 degree elbow closest to the firewalll on the transmission cooler. I tightened the hose clamp up and all is fine.

The best wasy is to wait till after dark, raise the hood and disconnect the light and use a flashlight to hunt the leak.

Just my 2 cents worth.
