Cool Running
I just returned from a trip to northern Virginia. On the way home Sunday morning I fell behind a "rabbit" in a Mustang and we maintained 85 mph+ (saw 90 once
)for a long ways down I-95. Air temps were in the low to mid sixties and a little bit of a tail wind. The most remarkable thing about the trip was tranny temp. My gauge starts to register at 160*F. At that speed it barely moved off the peg. That new Torque converter rocks. I also had about 5 pounds boost and 800 to 900 degrees on the EGT's. Mileage has fell of to around 16 mpg or less, but I didn't think I would see much more than that with brand new six mudders on the ground. All in all I was pleased with the way it drove. Now to do it with a real load
. I only had a 500 to 600 pounds of tools it the back.

I found another reason the fuel mileage dropped. I had a slight leak on a fitting that i had made up on the gauge line at the banjo fitting. I fixed it this evening. Another attempt at reinventing the wheel gone wrong.
I tried to make a pulse damper for the fuel pressure gauge using a CO2 cartridge but the solder job didn't hold up to the vibration. Back to the drawing board again.
