Exclamation Bad grid heater???

Hey guys;
Im new hear and love reading about our trucks! Not sure if this has been adressed but ill ask anyways:

After i drive my truck someplace a short distance, enough where its not fully warmed up and i shut er' down for about an hour our two, the truck starts up really rough when its cold out. (this happens when its 30* or lower out)

I know the grid heater is working because in the morning it stays on for a while but at night when i KNOW its cold enought for it to stay on it just turns off after about a second. It only happens after ive been running the truck about 2 hours prior to starting again.

Could something be wrong with the heating grid temp sensor???

Mine will do this too, I think all do. The problem is that the truck has been warmed up enough to not fire the grid heaters on the restart, but yet it's cold enough out that it doesn't run very good for about 30sec or so. IMO nothing to worry about, just let it sit there and cough itself out on high idle and drive off

Yeah, it takes a few seconds to get all 6 holes firing every time around when it's cold. As long as it smooths out in 30 seconds or so, don't worry about it. I can't plug in at work, and when I fire it up in the afternoon it's lumpy for about as long as it takes the oil pressure gauge to come up, maybe 8 - 10 seconds.

What kind of oil you all using? I know mine has a had time pushing 15 40 when its that cold and I havent plugged it in. Mine just loses about 100 rpm at idle because of it, it does not run real ruough when its started.
