Clutch won't disengage
I was hauling some roundbales yesterday and after I had loaded the second load and getting ready to take off , my truck wouldn't go into gear!. I shut it off and tried it again with it in gear and it started to move with the clutch in. I found the eyelet on the slave cyl. was wore real bad and so was the pressed in pin it all hooks to, so I farmer fixed it with some stuff I had laying around. It worked good until I got done unloading and went to back out of the place I was at. It wouldn't come out or go into gear again unless I shut the truck off! BTW thats a PITA when you have a 36ft gooseneck on and your can't see cause its dark out! Once I got it out of there it started working fine again? Its been good all day today now too. WTH is going on? Anyone else ever have this problem, and how did you fix it?

Sounds like you might have an air bubble. How's the fluid level?
Mine's repaired with a 1/2" rod end and a bolt through the pedal arm. The day I broke it I did a "farmer fix" myself involving an eyebolt and copper fittings. :D |
I checked it and it was a little low, but not empty. If I had an air bubble wouldn't that cause it to do this all the time? Could you get me a pic of how you fixed yours? Is the eye on the slave threaded into it? I didn't look like it was but I wasn't looking at it very hard.

I cut the eye off the slave and threaded the shaft. I knocked the stub out of the pedal and ran a bolt through the rod end.
The system will work air out of itself. Try filling it up and seeing how it goes. |
I did and its still doing it, thinking I m going to have to do like you did, and try and tighten it up.
