clutch or tranny

I was driving home last night and was downshifting for my corner. It shifted fine from 5 to 4 but was hard to get into 3rd. I pulled it back out of 3rd thinking that I managed to get it into 1st and now I can't get it in any gear. The clutch pedal feels the same as always. I towed it home last night and pushed it in the shop. Hopefully going to tie into it tonight after supper.
I have a transmission jack rated for 800 lbs. Will this handle a getreg and transfer case or will I have to split them.
Any help would be appreciated.
Somebody please tell me its the clutch.

Did you try to put in gear without the engine running?

Have somebody run the clutch while you watch the slave.

Does anyone know how far the slave cylinder is supposed to travel. I would like to rule this out before I take out the transmission.
