Clutch setup for pulling/driving setup
I am in need of a clutch bad before the pulling season starts since I have added the 435 Injectors[laugh]. This truck's purpose is to be a street puller and still be halfway drivable since it is just a playtruck. I need a clutch that will take some slipping since I would like to take off third gear low side. I need to get to about 15-16mph ground speed while pulling the sled to stay competive. Can anyone recommend a clutch that has done this with a 1st gen, 5 speed getrag. I would like the best bang for my buck.

Depending on how many pulls a year you do, you'll need a dual disk of some sorts. check out Southbend clutch's lineup.

It will probably make at least 16 trips down the track if it will hold together. Can anyone suggest a dealer that sells southbend that would be able to help me and has good prices.

I'd say go with the 3850 DD. Remember you might have to rebuild it up to every season depending on how much you slip it out of the hole.

Call Haisley (sp?) for a DD, I heard they are really good with the Getrag...
