Club Cab Frames
 

Except for the front and engine cross members, is there any other difference between 2wd and 4x4 Club Cab frames?

The rear leaf spring packs are different as well.
I am not sure if you count those as part of the frame but I thought it was worth mentioning...

The 2wd frame that has been for sale forever doesn't have any suspension or anything else at all, just bare frame.

The transmission crossmember is also different.

Does the 2wd frame have provision for the 4wd transmission cross member to bolt up?

IDK, you guys may be convincing me that Brick's frame maybe isn't all that bad!

Any pictures I have seen that include your frame looks great to me.
Post up some pictures of what spots are working you.

You will need to drill out holes in a 2wd frame for the 4x4 crossmember, leaf spring brackets and things most likely.

I have been doing some "grinding" with a flap disc in areas where I'm working on camper tie down mounts and it appears that it hasn't lost too much material. I haven't gone so far as to make the frame bright shiny and there is heavy pitting. Some "Must For Rust" around crossmembers and mounts, then Zero Rust primer followed by a top coat of paint may be the plan. Either way it's a ton of work!

IIRC 4 of the 6 transmission cross member bolts fit. I had to drill 2 and had to drill all 6 for the top side of the braces.

This is what a "bad" frame looks like. Around here (South Central PA) this isn't that bad. I fixed it by welding a new piece in and fish plating it.

Comparatively your frame is FINE!! Just needs a little rust prevention.

I don't have any pics but a friend of mine parked and parted a 1975 W200 because the frame from under the cab to the rear bumper looked like Swiss cheese and in places was missing more than half the height of the frame from the bottom up.

Mine looks like the upper part of your frame. The plastic clips holding the fuel lines don't stay in the holes any more. I gotta pull the tank and replace the brake line before it breaks off the RWAL valve.
