clock spring

When centering the clock spring how many turns can i expect before i start to feel resistance to where i should stop.

I got an extra steering collum and clock spring (used) when i bought the truck. I figured i would try to use the used clock spring instead of buying new$$.

Centering procedure- gently turn the center clockwise until it stops, then turn it back 2.5 turns.

Part #'s and interchange:

got one out of a Dakota today for 12 bucks. It did not fix my problem though (plastic on plastic sound in the collum and no cruise). but the old clock spring did not sound good when i shook it so i guess 12 bucks was not a waste.

Check the switches. A parts truck I bought required new switches for the cruise to work for the PO.
