Chrysler Park Lamp Jumper kit

I have this in my D350. Factory part number 5015799AA. Anyone else have it? I can find much info but it appears whoever installed it has the wires crossed. The pink goes to black and the black to pink after the plug. Does that sound correct? Seems its an accessory. Heres a pic

Well, I installed my headlamp switch and new pigtail and cleaned up all the wiring under the dash and now my running lamps and taillamps all work off the switch. Had to rewire the radio also and now it works. Last night was a good night. I'm still intrigued by this relayed jumper though. I ran the part number on google and only 1 description came up showing Park Lamp Jumper. Its a relayed harness wired into the headlamp switch. My guess is this was Chryslers way of taking some load of the lamp circuit?

The i tons have 14 clearance lamps added to the parking light circuit. It's a common burnout point at the headlight switch. Any time I replace a switch and connector, I also install a relay for the parking light circuit. I don't think I'd be the only one that thought of it.

I understand that. It just has a factory Chrysler number on it and it doesn't show up on my truck when I run the VIN on Chrysler star parts inquiry. it was wrapped with some foam tape. When I run the number on Chrysler Dealer Connect it appears it was an accessory, Obviously not available any more. Either way, After cleaning up the frayed and broke wires everything works off the switch like it should. On to the next wiring nightmare, the fusible link area...

I think that was actually a recall, years ago, but I can't remember what model years it covered.

Like this?

This was a recall to take the park lights off the headlight switch.
A good option to install on every truck.

Hope the dealer wasn't responsible for the sloppy connections tho.

Hey that looks familiar! I didn't remember it coming out that late in the 90s though. Thanks, Jim, for the refresher.

No problem,
I remember it from reading through all of the TSB's and recalls years ago.
I have always installed relays on all of my trucks even before it was cool, this should have been standard issue on all trucks.

One of my jobs I was a mechanic for a roofing company and the LN's and Ford 8000 flatbeds were always loosing the tail and marker lights, I installed relays to protect the electrical system, when they loaded the truck they would hit the bed with the forklift and pinch the wires to the bed marker lights and short them out, now only trips the breaker.

Wouldn't led clearance lamp bulbs help eliminate that problem? Along with Jim's headlight relay fix?

Yes,
LED's would completely eliminate the problem, here is a comparison of how much current they draw on my truck.

9) Model-19 incandescent clearance lamps @609ma. each = 5481ma or 5.481 amperes. (Your Truck)

9) Model-19 LED clearance lamps @44ma. each = 396ma or 0.396 amperes. (My Truck)

So you can see that all of my 9 LED lamps consume less than ONE standard incandescent lamp unit.
This does not include

5) LED Cab lights,
2) LED Side Marker lights
2) LED Front Turn/ Parking lights
2) LED Stop/Tail lights

When I work nights I usually leave my lights on for safety in addition to a strobe, I have left them on from mid afternoon until 5:00 A.M the next morning and the truck has no problem starting.

Now you can see the problem truckers had when they installed a gazillion lamps on their semi trailers.

Now my headlamp relays on the other hand save my switch but allow me to feed my Silver Stars with full battery voltage and at over 40-amps of current.
