My next project on the old girl was to fix the ugly rust spot on the drip edge above the windshield. I don't want a wet head so I wire brushed to predict for paint and somehow ended up with a 1/4" hole in my roof! So I went and bought myself a can of bondo and healed it back up. While I was at the autozone I got a can of the perfect match chrysler paint and some rust stop primer. Good as new now!! I want to paint the whole truck with that stuff! Hopefully I slowed down the rust enough to get through winter
Oh and I put some on the front of my hood too to keep it looking pretty

I replaced the cab on my old heap and the replacement cab had some rust up there but it was all coming from the outside. I wire wheeled it and threw some primer on it (didn't even put a coat of finish paint on) and the rust never came back after like 2 years. The truck has since been parked in the back 40 so I haven't even given it a second thought anyways...

Here in Minnesnowta where temps go way down and the cab interior is wet with snow for 6 months, condensation on the inside of the roof panel happens. Here's my temp fix. This is my beater. When I repair the headliner on the good one, I'll get inside the roof and treat it with rustproofing was or whatever, depending on what I find.
That's some 2 buck a foot RV seam repair tape. I have no idea how I'm going to get it off if I decide to salvage this cab.

On a related note, the reason I pulled the headliner out was to put a set of cab lights on I pulled off a junkyard w250 gasser. His roof rust fix was to just cut off the drip edge and fiberglass the whole front of the roof. You can sort of see it in the pictures.
Here's my before and after on the chicken lights

chickenfarmer that is sweet truck! so similar to mine. I really love that underhood fusebox. really simplifies things. is there a reason you went with that f150 one? or you just saw a nice big one and grabbed it?

Yea I heard that they had a good one and they are one of the few that don't run any of those stupid mini fuses or those even stupider little square ones. Thanks for the compliments! Now I gotta go check yours out!

I really like the cab lights, I paid $15 for the whole set and bought new bulbs that are more than twice as bright as the originals. I can find the number if anybody wants it, I think I have the brightest cab lights in town for sure and they look good!
