When I was in high school, someone in my shop class shoehorned a GMC 360 into a 1953 Chevy sedan.

Awesome sleeper it was.

Seen in the mid 80's hotrod mag...A fellow stuck a 454 Chev motor in a Austin Mini..I think he had to drive the thing from the back seat...

About 30 years ago,my cousin stuffed a punch out 351 Cleveland with a Ford toploader 4-speed in a 1973 Pinto....It was a suicde car...Burn back tires off with no problem...

Practical?
That would be the 4bt into a 2nd revision (1991-'96) 1st gen Dakota I'm plotting out.
Fuel mileage trailer/cargo moving capabilities in a cheap to buy and maintain package.

Mark.

Yeah, 4wd diesel that chrysler should be making.

This country is full of auto manufacturers who claim to be the "best" in the world, but none of them make a 4 banger diesel pickup or suv. VW has the jetta car, and it's fuel economy is up in the mid 40's, depending on what year it is, and everyone I know who has one uses it for commuting back and forth on the parkway. Real money savers they are.

Practical also meaning small tool around vehicle that gets good fuel economy and decent power. Personally, I don't like cars or SUV's, but I might buy a diesel powered SUV if they were available like in Europe.
