check engine light

check engine light

My sisters 93 5 speed , the check engine light is on, this is after an alternator and a new computer from dodge. The light didnt immediatly come on, took 3 days after computer. any ideas ?

Do the key cycle trick that's in the sticky to find what code you have, that'll give us something to work with.

Dave I checked the codes and I got a 35 and companion code 55. 35 wasnt in the list in the sticky, but in paper work that came with comp it says."
35=Idle switch shorted or open circuit

any ideas now ?

93 5 speed dually, CTD, there are several codes in the paper work that are differant, i can scan them tomorrow and post it. when i tested codes was odd, i actually got this,, / is flash ///, ////, /, /////, ///// now since they display in two digit codes the single flash has to be part of the 34 ie 35 and 55. and the 35 is listed in my paper,

But they flash inswquencial order, as in 6 is before 7 and after 5, if its 34 and 15, 15 cant come last can it ?

The 55 makes sense, it signals end of code. I can't find any trouble code 35 that applies to a diesel. A 34 is a speed control solenoid code.
