Charging issue
I am having some charging issues I have resourced the forum and hasn't seemed to help..let me tell you a little about my problem.. when I bought the truck the orginated alternator was unhooked and a bracket was made directly above it with a gm alternator and the wires were spliced into one wire ran to a light... I'm guessing to tell if it was charging or not. I know what you are thinking it's a CF.. and you are right. I replaced the alternator and removed all the extra crap and I am not getting any voltage out of it at all only a reading from the battery.. I was told the ecm supplies a voltage to make it work but I am not getting anything only a negative charge from the blue wire.. before you ask I do not have a tach and it's a 5 speed so it's shifting dine and they also removed the ac compressor so that doesn't work as well... I was told it could be the crank position sensor but I cannot find it. Any help is greatly appreciated! The truck is a 92 w250 5 speed

Sounds like you need to wire it to work without having the ECM functional. This can easily be done with either an external bulkhead mounted regulator or the transpo internal regulator. I recommend the transpo because it's super easy and reliable. Do some forum searching for it and I'm confident that will solve your problems.
