Carnage.

Well, here's the pics of the bolt that fell in the cam/crank gears. And I also found that the compressor wheel was chipped in two places. Would that hurt anything? Seems it would throw it off balance. Also what does that bolt secure in the case? A cam retaining plate, or?

The picture is a bit fuzzy, but I think the bolt that fell out is one of the thrust plate retaining bolts or one of the gear case bolts.

I've seen impellers worse than that and still work okay.

The impeller looks chipped like that because the manufacturer grinds them in order to balance the wheel. It's completely normal!

Correct! Those are balancing cuts, nothing to worry about.

The cam retainer plate bolts are hiding behind the gear, that's just an ordinary case bolt.
