Hey Augie, are you up and about yet? You "sound" better around here. Is your first gender friend a male or female ...Mark

Ha!! Good catch- 1st Genner I meant!

I am sorta out and about. Just got the ok to remove my clamshell suit after 3 months. Very sore, since I haven’t used the back muscles for so long. Definitely can feel stoppage at certain bend and twist points. Putting on a seat belt is like trying to reach under the VE and push the timing pin in, if you can relate. Have not been able to tie my own shoes yet. Hopefully in time.

So, Edwin, I am assuming you did google it? I’m telling you, as bad as it looks, that BALUT is awesome tasting. I eat a half dozen at a sitting! Very rich source of protein.

You got it T-man....
I was out in the shop till after 11 PM last night with the dogs dialing in the Gauntlet RC, as that will likely be the choice for the trip. I was working on plumbing up some Autometer gauges [EGT and boost] on an A-pillar 2 pod set up.
That way I can keep track of things and feel like I can install a THD fuel pin. The rebuild Getrag transmission, new Con-O SBC clutch and such have 4000+ miles on them and are broken in carefully, so a little more power would be safe now.

I finally got that THD pin working just like I want it to, in Poncho.

Oliver, how do you like that pin, the Hungry Diesel one? Do you remove the plastic spacer that sat on top of the factory pin? Last question, do you have your starwheel adjusted so full fuel comes on at high boost? Just looking for comparisons, as I put that pin in 2 years ago, but haven’t driven the truck since.

Augie, what I do is put grease on the pin reinstall it, hold the throttle wide open then force the plunger all the way to the bottom, if it's not going to the deepest part of the pin you have a pretty good idea how much you need to shave off the plastic washer (thanks wannadiesel) if you take the washer out sometimes you go past the deepest part then it starts to de-fuel because you are climbing the ramp again.

Augie,
After several different pin installs, I have settled on what is working best for me.
The THD pin is now installed with no extra copper washers under the diaphragm / above the pin, but the factory nylon washer removed.
I might still turn down the screw in the top cover to set initial fuel a bit more now to help add a bit of fuel under no boost. Basically the two thin cooper washers where doing that for me before, but while using the nylon stop washer.
I pulled the extra copper washers when I pulled the nylon washer as I didn't want to travel down too much.
I used the same trick that Nonrev listed to get me close. Then I tested it by driving it for a bit and checking the travel mark on the pin.

I forgot to add that yes my AFC spring is adjusted so that it takes quite a bit of boost to fully move the pin.
The '91.0 motor I am using has the stiffer factory AFC spring that is used on the '91.5 -93 intercooled motors IIRC.
I have a momentary haze that puffs under WOT acceleration started from low single digit boost #s.

Now that I have Poncho dialed in I am ready to tune up the RC a bit.

I finally got the Autometer gauges worked out yesterday.
The ground gave me a hard time and as I was using 2nd hand gauges, I swapped out 3 pyro gauges and one [thermo-coupler] and re did all the wiring before I tried to ground the pyro directly to the battery.
Then the pyro read correctly without any needle bounce.

At least now I am really proficient at gauge installs.

I will see if I get a chance to take it for a ride today and get some #s.

Two weeks out.... till MO-PAR[ty]

Ollie, May have missed it but what day are you leaving for Mopar nats? Depending on if I can make it, I would be interested in getting some small interior parts off you. I wont know until early next week if I am going or not.
