Question can't find 1st gen vacuum pump

I've been trying to find ANY WAY to get my truck back on the road.
This is my first time owning a CTD and I loved it for the first 2 weeks I drove it, until the vacuum pump housing cracked apart! I also tested the 2 canisters mounted to the pump and they are no good either!

I've been digging around for a couple weeks now trying to find a replacement pump, locally and online, with NO LUCK!

I found a different CTD forum first and was trying them but haven't got my truck running yet. I just found this CTD forum so here I am!

I will post pictures of my pump showing the busted canister mount to help illustrate what I need.

1. Is there any way I can find this pump new or rebuilt? Part # 3914785

2. Someone on the other forum told me I could use the next style pump
(1990.5) but then someone else said that pump was longer and a black bracket is in the way of the PS pump going back on. What do I do?!?!?!?!

3. How do I get a vacuum pump back on my truck! Nobody has one anywhere I try!

Help me out guys, I miss my truck.

I had this same problem 3 or 4 years ago. I ended up buying a good used one from a TDR member for $100. It was from a 92, so I had to trim about 3" off the bottom of the throttle bracket, and get an oil supply hose for the vacuum pump made, but other than that, it was a direct bolt on fit. The throttle bracket is heavy enough to live without the lower bolt in it.

Getting the center housing from Dodge was like $500+ then.

Thank you Daniel! That was exactly the info I needed!

How did you run your oil line for the newer pump? (I notice the old original pump has no oil line so I am guessing you had to start the new line out somewhere?)

You have given me hope!

Check ebay and the "other" Dodge CTD sites for used power steering/ vacuum pumps. If worse comes to worst, they have new vacuum pumps for $375 on ebay (even OEM Wabco), and you can trade in your "core" power steering pump for a newer style pump. Parts store wont be able to tell. Vacuum pumps will work all the way up to 2002; not sure on p/s pumps.

There is a plug on the side of the block near where the vac pump attaches to the gear housing.

I think the later model pump is the way to go. They show up on Ebay pretty frequently, power steering pump and all. Anything from '91.5 to early '97 will get the job done. The late '97 and newer trucks had hydroboost brakes so those vacuum pumps were only designed to run the HVAC system.
