Exclamation can someone explain this

alright i just got doing a little modding to the pump, (2 turns on screw) and for some reason i went from having 17 lbs of boost at 1100 F (1/2 turns of screw )before tinkering, to barely 15lbs of boost at 1050 F (maybe) (2 turns of screw) afterwards. and yes i turned the screw clockwise and thats all i did. can someone explain this?

has your max boost gone up or down? you are giving it more fuel at lower boost and that will make the EGT's higher at the same boost. If your max boost has gone up then you did it right and thats just the price you pay to have more power is higher egt's.

Did your idle change at all after you turned the screw the last time?

Make sure you didn't make a leak in the AFC boost tube when you were working the fuel screw. (That little tube that connects the top of the pump to the engine's intake manifold).

Have you checked your fuel pressure? Maybe your LP is starving your pump.

when you turned that screw in then your idle went up right?..so Im guessing you adjusted the idle down and if so you may not be getting full throttle anymore. First gens have linkage issues. have someone put the throttle to the floor, (eninge off) and see if you are getting full throttle at the pump.

well i just got doing a few more tweaks. for some reason when i turned it another 1.5 turns i got back to over 17lbs of boost but egts are stil down. i also removed my afc line to check/ replace it. and the stuff i fould in a prevois thread was wrong on the fittings. so i leak checked the line with an air compressor and a bucket of water and no bubbles.

Not trying to insult your intelligence. But I don't think the screw got turned the right way. Your idle would have had to go up if you turned the full fuel screw in. Since it went down, you had to have turned it the wrong way. Chances are you got the locknut moved further in towards the pump so it kept the screw from going in more. Common mistake just crank that screw in some more

I agree, if your idle didnt go up than you either are not on the fuel screw or your going the wrong way. the smoke screw on top is a waste of time, I would put that back were the factory had it. good luck
