A/c Questions

What A/C compressor should be on the wife's truck??

Advance shows two possibilities, SD709 and C171.

I have an extra compressor that was on my 89 engine.

Will it fit her 91.5??

She came home with sparks flying from around the A/C clutch, and a horendous racket, so I put on a non-A/C belt to keep her going.

I don't hear good things about the A/C on these trucks.

The previous owner had the wires unplugged from the compressor and zip-tied out of the way.

I need to track him down and find out what that was for.

When I test drove the truck, I turned on the A/C and thought it was cooling like Christmas; but, of course, it was almost Christmas, so I got fooled--actually for the very first time in my life.
