A/C Lines 90 Non-IC
A/C Lines 90 Non-IC
I'm working on a 1989 Ramcharger with a 1990 core support & 5.9L Non-IC. I have the condenser, SD-709 compressor, drier, expansion valve and evaporator. I was able to obtain the discharge and liquid line with no problem, but the suction and liquid line is a no-go from everywhere. I cannot take in the old lines for a rebuild because I don't have any.
Does anyone have a set laying around, old or new (happy to buy them), or is someone savvy enough to draw them out with the correct hose fittings and hose sizes / measurements so that I can work on collecting the fittings and have them made???
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Check to see if there are any aftermarket A/C kits available. I have seen the "add on" A/C stuff at JC Whitney, etc.
Or, see if you can find a truck in the wrecking yard that has the lines, and then get them rebuilt.

There is a good photo in post 3 here.I threw my old ones away. The tricky part will be finding the ends. You can probably go with a generic filter dryer and possibly expansion valve. I believe the footprint used on these components is fairly common and a good automotive ac shop should be able to hook you up, good luck...Mark
yep, maybe is right, the ac shops can modify/weld barbed connectors to adapt the manifolds, later down the road, replaceable hose connections, 4 seasons has all the adaptions for compressor connects, ive got a recent list of part numbers, if interested
Is this the engine in your sig?
Is your engine factory non intercooled or was it removed afterwards?
Sorry but factory lines might not work with this conversion, let me explain why, the 98-91non intercooled engine uses a C171 Chrysler compressor while the 1991.5-93 use the Sanden SD 709 compressor, they can be made to work for each other, besides the refergerant connections being completly diffrent they can be made to work with custom hoses or at least stubs.
Also the compressor mount itself is different for each compressor you will need the one for the compressor you decide to use.
Expansion valves are different but I would stick with the non intercooled version since most of the system in non-IC.
About the compressors,
C171 compressors are getting rare and are expensive although I believe they are a better compressor,
SD-709 compressors are good compressors and there are a lot of variants out there ( I believe they are lower CID than the C171 they are also less expensive and can be easly repaired.
Did not want to scare you but to let you were working with several mixed years here.
If you send me a PM I have a lot of technical data and info I could send you.
