bus motor

bus motor

Got a chance to pickup a motor from a school bus complete with rad air to air and auto trans its from a 1998 and has been reconditioned would it be smart to drop the whole motor in my truck can get it for 1000.00

That'd get you a p-pump. If you want a p-pumped truck then go for it, that's a good price for a running Cummins.

Very plus are they not the 215 pump ?? only thing i could think of is the govern may be a bit low ??

Nah, it would be governed the same. HP is probably set around 185.

Pickup the motor tomorrow its a cummins rebuild with70,000 kilometers has an air to air with itthat I think will work on my truck and an hx35w turbo

And if the bus had air brakes you might have a compressor as well, that would be cool.

Can't go wrong on that good deal!

Here is one I pulled out a couple of years ago. Needed plenty of hand cleaner and paper towels!

Ithink I,ll take the turbo and put on my motor and just set this motor inside it has air brakes but I need my vac pump. how do i store it so injecter pump and motor stays free my motor has 414ooo kilometers but runs great. The air to air is about 3in thick maybe a problem to get it in but going to try got to keep my ac condenser for moma. The guy has around 30 of these motors

I remember seeing a post about a vacuum pump that Fords had that was not run off the engine but was remote mounted. I think it was electric and cost about $100 - $150 range price wise. It might be an option for vacuum. I do not remember if it was on this site - but as active as this site is I would not be surprised if was here. Try doing a search if you are interested.
