I went to install my BD fuel pin and I noticed that the threaded portion on the BD pin is a tad larger than the stock one. The nut won't fit nor will it fit through the diaphragm. Anyone have this issue??

 

Mine was a tight fit through the diaphragm, but it went in without forcing it. The nut that is on the stock pin won't fit on the BD pin, I had to use the nut that came with the BD pin. Hope this helps.

 

I have noticed the Bully Dog pins are kinda soft and can show were very soon, just keep an eye on it.

 

Do they start to look something like this? This is one of my homemade ones. Didn't get it hard enough, the next ones are at least 40Rc and don't forget the stock pin is hard chromed.

 

Gee! That looks just like the one I bought. I took the little pin out, when it got stuck in the bore, and rounded off the end that rides on the AFC pin. Then I smoothed thehramp with my Dremel tool. So far it hasn't given me any problem.

 

Well then, I guess I will have to work with it a little. On a side note, if you order the pin from Jeg's, you get a great price, but it does NOT come with the nut for the top or a new spring. It is just the pin itself. Thanks for the replies everyone

 

Wow thats some serious wear on the pin. The governor seems to really push out that pin at the top fueling area.

Did you use drill rod?

 

I ordered mine from Jeg's and it did come with the nut. It is a self-tightener nut, phone them back to get them to send one if you didn't get one in your box and can't find one locally (although your local friendly hardware store should carry one too.)
