Build Me a Tranny!!
I cant find a single company that sells transmission parts for our trucks, TCI will build me one for $2200.00 that is equal to their $950.00 one they sell for a big block. I will be building it with a full manual valvebody, all racing parts and a good converter, I an get prices for gas parts but no diesel stuff, any good companies out there worth mentioning?? Im going to call TCI again and see if i can get somebody that knows what they are talking about, the guy i talked too was a jerk.

I got the vast majority of parts for my recent rebuild/upgrade from these folks ~ http://www.transmissioncenter.net/dodge.htm
That's the main dodge page, but there are other pages offering a LOT of stuff. If you can pick the brains of those in the know, you can coble together a VERY stout transmission using parts such as these.
And, contrary to what many might believe, the the only differences between the gas versions and the diesels are the the number of spider-gears in the planetary sets, a couple more clutch/steels in the clutch-pacs, and a different weight for the governor (outside of the valve-body programming) . . .. so says the Dodge FSM.
So, . . . . such as in my case, calling the folks at PATC, was all I needed to get the right parts. ---> Granted, I did have to figure out based on what I saw on the web-pages that, just as indicated by the FSM, billet shafts, more spider-gears, better steel for the planetaries, more clutch-discs, etc, is the jest of hopping an auto.
BUT, be aware, you'd do well to have a clue as to what you want to do with the truck so the folks in the know can steer you the right way. I got the impression every time I called, I was actually talking with the fellas who actually build the transmission in the shop. As such, they ain't got time to edumacat folks.

ive did performance rebuilds on 46RE's, turbo 350/400's and glides, along with AOD fords, just all the "experts" ive called dont seem to know crap about the diesel 727 tranny's. i knew some of the internals were different but couldnt get definate answers. they dont list anything for the 727 on their site.
