breathing dust

While vacationing in colorado my flex came loose from my bhaf due to major washboard road to campsite. Anyway I drove approx 75 miles before noticing it, half of which was dirt road. Have I done major damage? thanks

You are probably fine, assuming you didn't have another vehicle in front of you kicking up a cloud of dust for you to drive through the whole time.

my brother is the classic case of "don't try this at home..."

he ran a cummins thru mud with no wheel wells and a broken inlet tube for several WEEKS (not miles) and is still OK after a year. with no wheel wells and a broken tube, mud goes DIRECTLY into the turbo and, therefore, engine. oh, yeah, his heater hose was also leaking at the time, adding water to the slop which was already getting sucked in. i wonder if that boosts HP......?

(he's basically the reason that I bought a cummins, but so far his seems better than mine)

You need to follow him and perform that same Stage VI mud-ingesting upgrade to make your truck run as good as his!

Reminds me of a "Hey, hold my beer and watch this!" routine.

maybe i should...mine's just not running quite right, but his runs like a top! he stopped at my job to get the heater hose fixed (2 hose clamps and a piece of tubing) and when i went out to help him with it i saw that there was mud slung up all over into the engine compartment, all up into the turbo, etc. he said that he didn't have time yet to get the new hose.....

but, it doesn't seem to have hurt it.
