breakaway spring pin

I was just looking over my throttle linkage an di have alot of play on the idle arm. The breakaway spring is fine but the pin that is between the two ends is gouged up bad. It has some deep grooves in it allowing the arm to go where it wants to when i give it some throttle.

Find a piece of tubing that fits and slip it over the pin.

I welded mine up, then ground back down to how it was supposed to be...Mine was all slopped out, But a piece of tubing will work too... Just depends on how long you want it to last...

Brazing/silver solder and a file will fix it right up as well. I used a propane torch and some silver solder from the hardware store etc. IIRC that linkage bracket is close to $75.00.

for right now i just got some bailing wire and tied it tight so it wont move on its own. I will eventually find a piece of tubing to fit it. Is this a common thing to happen?

Mine was toast with half the miles you have in your sig...

Get yourself a crimp-on wiring connector, slip it over the pin and break off the connector portion.

Yes, it's very common for both the pin and the breakover spring to be worn out.

well i drove my truck to school today and wow fixing that pin really made a difference. it seemed like it has less play in the peddle.
