Brakes Fixed: Many Thanks!

Thanks to all who provided tech advice on my vanished brakes. I replaced the MC & dump valve, bled the system best as I could (the hose nipples on the front bleeder screws are almost nonexistent-- what a PITA... [verymad] ), and they work quite well now. Thanks again, & on to the next problem.

Was it the dump valve that was the problem, or did you just replace everything so you wouldn't have to tear into it again (been known to do that myself)?

No idea which; I just removed both from the parts truck & installed them. If I would have had more time, I would have tried the MC first, just out of scientific curiosity.

Nice, nothing like a truck that goes fast, but stopping has its rewards [laugh]

If you don't mind me asking where did you get your dump valve and how much did it cost. I'm in the same boat you where in. I'm going to change both to save some bleeding time. Thanks Mike

Mine was absolutely free-- I just pulled it off the parts truck we have at the shop. I'll admit it was a bit of a dice roll, but the fluid in the MC was clear & it appeared relatively new, so I decided I had nothing but the time to lose given that my brakes didn't work. I just lucked out. Judging by the look of that dump valve, I'll bet it's pricey though.

It does look a little pricey but stuff like that can fool ya though If I'm lucky. I will start with the MC and see If that fixes it if not I will back up and punt. Thanks Mike
