Brake switch

Hey all, I've been having terrible luck with my brake switch. I bought a new one that came with a C-clip thinking my old switch was trash. I put the new one in till it was snug to the brake pedal and then locked it with the c-clip. Took the truck for a drive and came back and my tail lights were on. The truck was off as I was about ready to eat. I don't know if that's the design of the truck, but I went into the cab, pulled the brake pedal forward and the lights went off. I did bend the bracket towards the pedal some but eventually the sensor popped back out stripping the plastic threads.

Anyone else have this problem, just wondering if there is a better design.

Yeah that's what I did! I'm going to get some rubber hose like stated and see if that helps. I'm afraid to clamp down on it because it's only plastic.

Thanks!
