Ok thanks guys. The springs I am having hell with are the short stubby one's that connect to the small nail looking wire. I don't see how any of those tools will work. I have never seen them used. Thanks agains. I guess I will go buy some bandaids, and go try again.

Jawco #1349 Heavy Duty Brake Spring Hook Tool. They have them on Fleabay for less than 20 bucks. They are made in USA too!

As clutsy as I am, I have developed an easy way to get everything in place. 1. Put rear shoe in place, clamped at the middle grease pad with a vice grip welding C clamp. 2. Put front shoe in place with the adjuster, clamped as above. 3. Install hold down springs with Jawco tool, a flick of the wrist. 4. Install the return and adjuster springs. 5. Remove the Welding clamps. 6. Install the parking brake cable. |
