That truck would be a lot of fun with a lot of possibities. If it is mechanically sound for the most part, it would make a great camper conversion project. With only 135k, if it was maintained, I wouldn't think it would need much. The bonus is that the inside might smell like fresh bread for a long time!

Better yet,

How about a bikini laden hot dog truck ?

Cut a hole in the side, install some cookers, and start selling weenies on the side of the road.

There's a guy here who has the exact same truck / setup. He's been selling dogs for over 20 years. Put his 3 kids through college, and now is selling the biz. He has his own little spot on the side of the road, with an electric meter hookup and parking lot. Selling price is $1.2 million.

His average gross per year is in the high $200's.... selling weenies.

The nice thing about those trucks is they're all aluminum. You can probably make your $1200 back in scrap if you spend the time to cut it up and bundle it properly.

Last I knew it was 40 cents per pound for scrap aluminum. Took the siding off our old 1 car garage and got $150 for it!
Couple of hours and sawzall blades and you will get 4 or 5 hundred back.

Forget the Hp, it's the torque man.

But from those pictures, it is the 120 Hp Intercooled version.

Don't suppose it has a P7100 on it, does it?

See how many more they have laying around.......... I could use 3 or 4 more.

You could "camperize" that bread truck and have the coolest RV around , not to mention the most fuel-efficient one guaranteed

Somehow the weenie truck idea fits. The truck started out hauling buns so it is more than capable of hauling weenies.

The P-pump looks completely different; if it looks anything like the rotary VE on the 6-cyl trucks it is one. Not exactly a bad thing I think.
cheers,
Douglas

Yep, standard VE. I would rather have a VE, they have dynamic timing and generally fire instantly. If I were power crazy it would be a different story, but for normal folks, a VE is the better way to go.

Let's put it this way, I wouldn't trade the VE on my 4BT for a P7100, even if someone offered to swap for free.

I'm telling you right now..

This guy who started selling dogs about 20 years + ago, has made more money that me, my wife, my family and my friends all together.

Location is key... but I'm sure on the books he only made about 20K last year

My 4BT was in a bread truck and bolted to a Chevrolet transmission. Looked like it had the adapter to go from cummins to Chevrolet. Should be able to remove it and bolt up. Also if you run a trans either the motor or trans will have a 7 degree lean

Not sure why it's clocked but when I did my swap I didn't know about it. Pulled motor and trans 2 or 3 times trying to figure it out. I leveled the trans and left the motor leaning. I enjoy watching people try to figure out why it's like that
