Bosch VE rotary inj. pump mods
A little off topic...I'm looking at swapping a 4bt or 4bta into another vehicle and was wondering about power upgrades. The 4bt's use the VE rotary inj pump and I've been advised that the 1st gen 5.9's have the VE pump on them so I thought I'd ask here. What can be done to the pump to increase power? Can you bump up the fuel delivery (like sliding the plate in the P pumps) or adjust the timing?

I imagine its the same pump as on 1st gens minus to lines, so turning up the pump would be the same as 1st gen, same with timing, and injectors . I've been told its the same motor just 4 cylinders. If I'm wrong someone mwill chime in

You might get better exposure in the 1st gen area.
Bumping the power isn't tough on the VE pumps. Take a look in the FAQ or Tech facts and there are diagrams of the VE pump and the adjustment areas.

Yep, just like turning up a 1st gen. The equivalent to sliding the plate is turning the AFC cone, starwheel is the same type of setup, and there's also a full power adjustment on the back of the pump. You can find full details in the "tech facts" section of the website.
