Borgeson Shaft?

I recently installed a rebuilt intercooler in my 93 w250 4X4 after posting a question to you guys and getting great responses. Gained quite a bit of go, but have a long way to go yet.

I have owned 3 dodge 4x4, 1979(full time front diff. gas gussler), 1985(a tough go anywhere tractor which I still have), and now my first diesel, the 93. I have replaced that dam steering link in the wheel well to many times. I was going to fab something with a splined shaft and universal. I have seen you guys mention a borgeson shaft. Does this replace the link and if so, who handles it and what kind of price tag has it got?

Definitely worth while. You will never have to rebuild that stupid coupler again. You can get if from Borgeson direct, Summit Racing, PDR and I'm sure alot of other places as well.

I believe it runs a little over 200 bucks most places. Bullet proof to be sure, but a bit pricy. There's a fella over at ramchargercentral.com that did a junkyard fix using splined shafts from some late model chrysler cars and claims it works just as well as the borgeson unit for a fraction of the price. I think there's a how-to article on that site with more details.

Thanks for the info guys. I will price out the Borgeson. That link is a joke. I can,t believe that dodge kept it for so long.

did you replace just the kit or the whole thing, housing and kit. My housing was rusted and worn too much for the kit to get all the play out of it. I installed a grease fitting on the new one and so it has shown no signs of wear. You can get the whole thing online for about $55
