boost, fuel, and rpms.

Hey all, I have some questions for the forum, hope you enjoy.

My truck (see sig) seems to have speedo problems. I have a 4.10 rearend, but have gotten the rig over 100 mph. The rpms and the mph don't line up correctly for a 4.10 rear. The speedo says 60 and the tach says 2000,.....but i am traveling at 70+mph. Mind you, the pump is turned up....at WOT I run max 20 lbs. boost. What is up?

What is average fuel mileage for this truck? i usually get between 16.9-18mpg...but I usually run pretty deep into the throttle. is this decent?

With 20lbs. boost...any idea how much power i am running? Is my pump bottomed out or not? Is my power level pretty average for just a turned up pump and k/n air?

Thanks all. I patiently await the sages of dtr to school my pathetic and inadequate knowledge about the freaking machine i call a "daily driver."

Whose tach is it? Many of them need to be calibrated. You also may not have 4.10's. My truck runs 2100 @ 70 with 3.54's and 235/85's.

My truck gets around 15 in town and 18 on the highway.

You're probably making around 200 RWHP.

as far as speed vs rpm... what size tires are you running?

17-18 is good mileage for 4.10s with a heavy foot

20psi with a turned up pump is decent with stock exhaust housing (my 92 with tweaks and 16cm housing runs a max of 26 or so)

i personally don't think the K+N gains you anything (also do a search, they are not popular with most, but not all, around this forum)

asking is a way to learn, keep asking and you keep learning!

My truck will do over 90. Don't know how much, don't care to find out. I know the speedo is correct, cause I had the wife pace me a couple months ago. It is getting 20mpg highway @65 w/4.10s. It pushes 25psi max boost in current trim with about one and half turns on the fuel screw being the main pump tweak. The BFGs measure about 32" tall. Best part is highest EGT I have seen is 1,000. It runs cool even with the turned up pump on this intake and exhaust combo. Sounds good too!

OBTW, I checked the intake tube for dirt the other day and it is white glove clean. Only problem with K&N is people who don't understand how to properly service them.
