Blower Motor Resistor

Could someone tell me where the fan motor resistor block is located on a '93. Fan works on all speeds with a/c and vent, but it does nothing at all on heat or defrost. Thanks for the help.

open the glove box and pull it all of the way down. The resistor is behind the box in the ducting.

Thanks flatbed!!

I don't know if your resistor block is bad. It will only work on one speed or not work at all when it goes bad. It's mounted on top of the heater plenum with the fan wires going to it. With it working on a/c but not heat sund more like a wiring or switch problem.

I am with grouch, sounds like the control unit is having a problem. I would check all the connections on the back. Just remove the dash bezel to get to it.

It was the resistor block, pulled the plug off of it. It had 2 terminals that were some what rusted. Sanded them down, plugged it back in and is working on all speeds, heat and a/c. Thanks guys:cool:

Wow, learn something every day. I've never seen one act like that and just need a cleaning. :o Usually, when they get to this point, one of the resistor wires burns through.
