block heater?????

Ok, I've seen you guys talk about a block heater and I've seen them on other vehicles before so I know what you're talking about but I don't seem to have one on my truck nor do I see where it would go if it did have one. What's the usual location of the heater??? I live in Ca. and will probably never need one... the coldest morning so far this year was 31. I've seen it in the low to mid teens here but that's not normal. If I ever need it I'd like to know where it is.

It's installed in a freeze plug hole on the passenger side of the block...just behind the oil filter. The cord may be the only thing you're missing, so it'll just look like a 2-prong outlet...otherwise, it's the part of the block with an electric cord coming out of it

It goes in behind the oil filter, I think. You have to knock out a freeze plug.

Son of a gun! I do have one. I never saw that cord before. It looked like part of the wiring harness and it was curled up under my air filter. Thanks guys!
