iam runnin an old smoky air box i had some extra material and improved it a bit and used weather stripping to completely seal it off. made the stock ram air thing a lot bigger drilled lots of holes used a filter from a mid range freight liner truck its 3 times as big as the stock and looks just like it turbo whistle improved a lot and when i turn off the engine it sounds like a vacuum cleaner . so the point it is the same as BC'S but square its even stainless steal too!!!

here is my thread on BHAF
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=151774

it was easy to make..

also I have since changed my BHAF out for a Lucas dry filter with a filter cover on it.

I am also updating pics in that thread showing how I got rid of factory piping.

i will probably get **** for this but for $18.96 i get a new filter and i use 1-2 a year and i believe that a good old paper filters a lot better than an oil/Cotton type i have a k&N on the ford and when i clean it i can see dirt and a little oil on the inside of the intake pipe

I remember reading somewhere (on here?) that you shouldnt run a k&n (or any oilable) filter, I think it was said that if you oil it properly the turbo could suck the oil out and cause problems?, maybe just dry it out and cause it to rip and the microns would be way off?

Anyone else seen this?

dang haha! when i first got this idea i didnt know an air filter could be so in depth, i think i'll stick with the factory one or find a cheaper one but somewhat same style, i've had mine in roughly 5-6,000 miles and it still looks clean i was pretty happy
