Do I get a donor truck for $1500 or do I slowly find out my problem by replacing things 1 by 1? The donor has a bad cab, guess our trucks cant stand up to a combine!
To reiterate my problem~
Coming home one day I found it increasingly had to shift. When I pulled into my driveway I could hardly get it to shift into 2nd. After much time I replaced the clutch pedal bushing. That did not work. At this time the truck wont even shift into gear. The truck acts like the clutch is not disengaging. Every time I try to put it into gear it rocks forward about 6 in but wont go into gear. It wont even let me grind the gears. So as I was looking underneath the dash, I noticed that the bracket that holds the clutch pedal up looked like it was cut, right next to the clutch master cylinder bracket. So I tack welded it back on and still no go. I also lost that little dog-eared clip that holds the push rod onto the clutch pedal (hint hint, wink wink).
Wannadiesel suggested my hydraulics were shot, and then a guy at work suggested my throw out bearing might out. There was no out-of-place noise or anything like that before this happened. Is it my clutch, hydraulics, or throwout bearing? Or is it something more than that? Also if you have that little clip, I will to take it off your hands.
Any and all advice will be appreciated.

I agree with Dave. Definately hydraulics. I was having similar problems so I replaced the master cylinder and the slave cylinder. Mucho better now. If the clutch doesn't disengage, then the hydraulics aren't doing their job... simple.
I am having the same thing on a 2002 4x4 3500 with 135,000 miles ,it started with clutch engageing just an inch off the floor now its almost impossible to get into gear I think I will replace it with an upgraded one ( Master Slave ) so when I replace my clutch with a new upgraded one the hydralics will handle it.
I read a post where Advanced Diesel Technology 304-864-3399 have them for 250.00 shipping included when your dodge dealer will get you for about 200.00 for a stock unit.

After inspecting your slave cylinder and master cylinder for leaks. Look inside under the dash on the fire wall for leaks from the master cylinder. If no leaks are found try "pumping" the clutch pedal I would say 10-15 times and see if it will "pump up" and disengage the clutch. If this works than I would guess its your clutch master cylinder. You will be able to tell as your pumping if the clutch starts disengaging.
But check for leaks inside on the firewall first, if there is than replace master cylinder.

If you could, get one that is prefilled and primedfrom the dealer, if it is your master OR slave cylinders. Makes for a lot less knuckle-bashing and makes it a easy swap.

I have been having the same trouble with my truck. usually a shift into a higher gear will allow me to shift into 1 or 2. Some people have told be its the trans starting to go. Too me the clutch release and hydralics would be a good and cheap and easy place to start. Thats what I'm gooing to do as soon as it warms up.

The parts were in the store the morning after I ordered them. Some place only carry the slave cylinder but the master is special order.Jon
