bad injection pump

Hey Guy's Just Picked up a Truck guy has paper work to show that Motor was rebuilt 4000 miles ago now he say's injection pump is out ?how Likely is it the pump and not the fuel shutoff sylenoide ? truck only has 160,000 is a 4x4 5sp truck . tryin to deside if it's a 30 dollar fix or a 800.00 dollar fix for a new pump .he say's he hasn't looked deep into it just talked to 1 guy that said he thought it was the pump .I am thinking the cheaper of the 2 Option's being a shut off sylenoide and not the pump. anybody near Rawlins Wyo willing to look it over for me ?

Thank's Guy's

I might be a little negative, but if an engine needed rebuilding at 156,000, it hasn't seen the best of maintenance. Dirty fuel or low fuel pressure will wreck havoc on the IP.

So what are the odds that it got more than paint? Probably ought to trailer it home and go through the diagnostics from the top.

The list of possibilities is long. For the right price, I'd drive from up here to drag it home.
