if you had someone do it, take it back and make them do it again

if you do it, did you use the right seals?, you must becareful when putting the axel back in, it's easy to ruin the seals

If you are talking about the rears you might have a groove burned into the axle tube where the seal rubs, you might be able to polish it out with croakus cloth but if you can feel it with your fingernail you should repair it with a speedy-sleeve, it is a thin shell that slips over the tube and gives you a new surface for the seal.

Jim

Here is a nasty looking install of the sleeve.

You can also drive the seal in a little deeper to get a fresh surface. Check the sticky for a helpful tip on this.

I would make the shop that did the work fix it on their dime, though.

Thanks,

No big tricks and yes I'll take it back. It's leaking worse than when I took it in- the guys have been good. I'm sure I can fix it-but I'm trying to get a decent relationship with a local shop so I can outsource my work. time is little these days and car/truck repair falls lower on the list.
