Aww Dadburn dry clutches.....
Well, I rebuilt the Dana 70 Power-loc, put it together and it never free-ed up. Would always bind the rear tires and leave marks. So this weekend I took it apart and sure enough the clutches were dry. There was not a bit of the friction modifier between the clutch pads and slip discs. So, I really soaked them this time and made sure the modifier was in there. When I tightened it up I was squeezing the modifier out. Drove it today and all is well again.
BTW, these things are so tight new that the modifier can not soak in just by being in the rear oil. If you are able to get your rear end to stop binding by adding the modifier to the oil then your clutches are already worn out.
