Automatic Transmission Application Question
I hope some of you gearheads can answer a quick question to verify conflicting application information. In the '89-93 rigs, was the 37RH Torqueflite ever replace by the 4-speed automatic? If so, what was the year, please? I have books that say the 3-speed auto was used all the way to '94 and another says a 4-speed auto was available '92 and '93? Many thanks!

Re:Automatic Transmission Application Question
4 speed auto was available in 91 (at least by mid year). The Tranny used in the 91-93 was the 46RH.

Re:Automatic Transmission Application Question
There are some oddities in this topic... in Canada the original trannies were labelled the 727, and the later model labelled the A518 which is a 727 with OD added. If I understand it all right, the A518 is a 47RH non-lockup. I wish they'd keep the darned labels/models/applications straight between countries.... it would make things alot easier..
In my case the label is much simpler now.... DTT. bob. |
