Auto Transmission Upgrades.

Well, I am finally ready for a torque converter. I am going to start truning things up and I have decided what I am going to go with for now. I will have a HX-35 w/16cm nonwaste gated housing and 4" straight pipe, 3200 spring and tweeks. Now for the trans. I am getting the 2nd Gen flex plate and a shift kit. For these light mods will I need a new valve body? Also, will one of the lighter duty aftermarket torque converters, say $350 - $500 work for my mods?

Thanks,
David

For just the transmission upgrades, or for the spring, turbo, etc., also? For tranny upgrades, the best shift kit will run you around $200.00, and TC around $400.00-$600.00, depending on what make youe get. No labor included.

I am just trying to get some good info on the transmission upgrades. I am going to do the turbo, spring, tweeks, etc. I do not need a high end torque converter but I do want to upgrade over the stock one. Will I need a 2nd Gen. flex plate too?

Thanks guys.

I would recommend it, I've seen the 1st gen ones tear out, crack, I have a cracked one in the shop out of my 93, it would have come apart at some point in time.
