auto matic trans pump up?

I'm with Angry. Try driving a manual driven truck, at 3pm in Milpitas, San Jose on a Friday. A typical 3 hour commute home turns to 5 hours, 'cause 4 of those hours are in constant stop and go. A lot of the times, I have to put my auto in Neutral, to keep my ATF temps down. Within 45 minutes of that crazy traffic, I've had my temps creep up to 200 degrees while stopped in Drive during the summer months. This time of year it creeps up to 180 degrees and hovers there.
Which leads me to this question for you, Angry. Will the replacement of the manual valve and the lube pressure regulator cure this over heating while idling in gear, and stopped? Mind you, these temps are with an auxiliary Derale cooler with a 10" fan diameter along with tube and fin coils. Mag-Hytec deep sump pan, too.

No that won't do a thing for the temps. The temp is driven up, for the most part by the torque converter. The only thing the valve changes is it allows the converter to charge in park as it does in neutral.

All right, then. Thank you.
