I am putting a 4bt, NV4500, and Np205 in a Scout. I am trying to figure out ho to make my speed sensor work. My t-case came out of a 92 Dodge. Where is the speed sensor in a first gen?
Im doing the same coversion, in a Scout even. The "speed sensor" is that big mess that comes off of the transfer case. Its two adapters. One is the calibration adapter and the other takes the mechanical signal and turns it into an electric signal.
I took all that and threw it in the trash, I found a mechanical one that bolted right up to the 205 (from a Ford) and went on from there. Im running auto meter gauges with the mechanical inputs. Works fine

Do you have a part number?
Also I am not seeing a place to find the 4x4 sensor. I am hoping to have the 4wd drive light come on in the dash when I go into 4wd.
Ah, one other thing, what about a part number or a place to find a connector to come off the NV4500 so I can hook up my reverse lights?
By the way I would love to hear about your conversion. I don't know why I like these old Scouts so much, but they are very appealling to me.

Reverse light switch is on the NV, on the shift top.
The Scouts not finished yet. Wont be long though. 4bt/Getrag 5 speed/np205 d44hd f / dana 70 rear 4:11s. Pretty simple, run WVO and go to Colorado A LOT, thats my plan.

If you werent already familiar with 4btswaps, Im sure youll soon be. Although there are 4bt'ers lurking on this site, that site is 100 percent. You can hit a more defined audience over there with your 4bt stuff.
1st gen stuff, your in the right spot.......
