I used a old ac high idle solenoid from a Oldsmobile car. Made a little bracket ,then just wired it with a switch from key on power.

That is sure a way to skin the cat that I had not seen before.

How many RPMs does that bump the idle up to ??

It's set for about 1200 now but can change it by screwing the plunger in or out. There cheap at parts stores too. A buddy got me to do the same to his truck last winter and he just picked a solenoid up from napa for about $30cdn. Just looked at all the one's in stock and picked the best fitting.

I know this is an older thread, so I don't know if you all are still interested, but I've been doing some research on how to wire around my broken clock spring and came across this:

This was done while wiring around a clock spring to get the cruise control to work. I haven't tried it yet, but I think I'm going to.
