I've just recently installed a set of DDP4 injectors. 
They do burn cleaner at idle than 190's (no/very little haze).
Like any injector, if you don't touch the accelerator pedal, you'll get better fuel mileage.
With my IP set for as little smoke as possible and Grandma driving, they don't smoke much at all. Let me behind the wheel, and I can block the Sun.
With a PDR HX35 hybrid, the smoke clears up to a light brown upon WOT.
With said turbocharger, the EGT's under WOT conditions are Stupid Hot.
