I'm in the east valley. An informal, quick get together/meeting would be nice sometime. Can't learn enough about my '93.

Every once in awhile I'll see a 1st gen cummins driving around, it's rare though.

I am right in downtown Phx. I don't know much about the diesel, but have done a lot of work on my rig. I would like to get together and share skills and experience. It is a great way to save money too...Mark

Yeah a small meet would be cool. I'll bring some beer!

Here's my pig. Sure would be nice to figure out why my Denny T, star wheel turned in, smoke screw ALL the way in is not providing much power (seat of the pants).

James

*Edit* Disclaimer, since this pic, paint has started peeling. Guy I bought it from must have gotten a maaco job.

Turning the fuel screw will make for much more power. Read up about runaway first before messing with it. You can find all that info in the "sticky." It's the thread that's always listed at the top of all the others on the first page.

Yep, hence my small post count vs. when I registered. I've read all the stickies when it comes to turning up the pump. I posted on another forum, couple other fella's with '93s found the same thing. Smoke screw all the way in, no runaway. Had the board out and ready in case it did, not even close.

You don't need to worry about runaway unless you're turning the fuel screw in or if you have the pump open for something and are going to start it after reassembly/reinstall.

Not sure if I'm wording this right. You guys might have missed:

Power screw is all the way in.

Fuel screw (smoke screw) turned in 90degrees but looks like it's already pretty deep (as if it had been turned up already?).

Denny T fuel pin installed.

I did have to take the pump off to repair a leak on the front of the pump. I replaced a few easily accessed seals as well, also installed a 3200rpm spring.

I guess I was expecting a noticeable bump. Something has to be out of whack.

Is your truck an automatic? If so, I'm sure that has a whole lot to do with what you're experiencing.

Noticed this thread was started in '08.

vwkaferman - I think I remember seeing your truck for sale on CL a few months back. Sucks about the paint, maybe it can be fixed under a warrantee? Maaco uses a special paint formula, peels off the truck one day after the warrantee expires.

Looks like there are about three people for a meet and greet, need more.
