Another timing question

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone who is bumping their timing know the actual lift numer in mm or thousants(spelling?). I bought the tool for timing when I put my BD on my truck, It came at 1.40mm and I moved it to 1.50mm. Well I guess I didn't tighten It up enough because it has retarded It's self back down. Now I'm reading about guys pushing it to the head, mine wasn't even close to that and I was already over .30mm stock timing. I temperarly(spelling?) have shuved it as far as I could to the head without taking the lines loose, and now I got a bunch of whitish smoke. I think I'm to far advanced, Anyways long story short, does anyone know the real number they are running?

Thanks
Justin

no thats the real hard way of adjusting the timing i installed a maxspool cam so i advanced the timing but with the gear instead of pushing the pump around .

Aw, I understand. You had me ....ing my pants on that one. Well I guess I'll just see where my truck does the best, don't have the time or money to play with it on the dyno. I'll keep moving it around, I just hate using that stupid tool, it's a long setup and using the baring tool to turn the engine over seemes to take forever.

Thanks
Justin
