Thanks FT. The frames I compaired were a 87 RC compared to a 92 D250. Night and day...
My logic was simply that when doing a frame up build, why not use the noticably thicker frame? I have a habit of always over engineering Understanding the need to chop the frame, a required 2" body lift to clear the rear rake, and placing the rear body mounts.
I have a 28' classic Sea Ray that is consider Project #2 behind the RC Cummins. It's dry weight with trailer is about 8,500lbs. I dont plan to tow long distances, but will use the RC for loading and unloading. :-)

Depends on driving style. If its strictly being used as my daily driver and seeing mostly highway I have gotten close to 560miles out of the 34gal tank. That's a bit over 16 mpg give or take. What's nice is at 1450rpms I am running 70mph. Just don't hit any mountains or try towing.
Also note that I normally don't get that mpg's as I drive it hard and running 75+ on the highway is a normal now. Even running at those speeds I don't touch 2k rpms

I eventually plan on doing a cummins conversion to my RC Snoball....I never even considered not using the frame currently under it.
Doing the 4wd conversion to your 2wd frame, and all the cutting and shortening etc is going to be a lot of work.

Yeah but work isn't work if you are having fun.

So true Mark.
Guys, I'm not saying anything negative regarding using a RC frame that is being pushed by a Cummins. I just have a rare opportunity to leverage a 92 250 frame as a solid base for my build. I understand the additional work involved and sincerely appreciate everyone's suggestions and supporting comments. Great motivation as I am excited to get started.
I'm looking to have the 2wd assembly off the frame this weekend and to start mocking up the motor and nose crossmember as well as the front suspension. Jungle reminded me that I will need to use new rear suspension templates as the one I previously ordered are specific to a RC frame. I believe everything else that I ordered for the RC frame will work out just fine. Stay tuned... :-)

Quick Update: A total of 12 Rivets down and 8 to go... I used a IR air hammer. Worked great, but I would highly recommend ear plugs.
A better update and pics tomorrow.

Here are a few pics on the progress of removing the front 2wd assembly. Raining here today so not sure how far I'm going to get. Plenty of other project to work on. Ha Ha.
